The City of Bandera will host Fish for Fun, a free community trout fishing event, at Bandera City Park on Thursday, Dec. 18, from 5 to 6 p.m.
The event is open to all ages and is designed to make fishing accessible to the public.
Organizers will provide fishing poles and tackle on loan, as well as hotdogs and drinks while supplies last.
The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department encourages residents to take advantage of the trout stocking opportunity at the park.
Participants must follow the rules set by TPWD and event organizers.
Anglers may keep up to five trout each and are limited to using no more than two poles.
Anyone under 17 years old does not need a fishing license to participate.
Bandera City Park, located along the Medina River, is part of the state’s winter trout stocking program, which provides cold-weather fishing opportunities in public waters across Texas.
