The Bandera freshman boys basketball team traveled to Devine on Tuesday, Dec. 2, as Falls City does not field a freshman squad.
Jackson Bower led the Bulldogs with 10 points, and Mayson Gonzales added 8. Despite a hard-fought effort, Bandera fell to the Warhorses.
The JV and varsity Bulldogs traveled to Falls City on Tuesday as well, sweeping the Beavers.
The JV opened the night with a convincing 35–27 win, earning their first victory of the season. Carson Garza led the way with 9 points, hitting 3 of 4 from beyond the arc.
Chris Martinez and Byron Keeling added 6 points each, and Caleb McKenzie anchored the defense with a strong performance.
The varsity Bulldogs set the tone early, holding the Beavers scoreless in the first quarter. Logan Pierce came out hot from the 3-point line, sparking the offense.
Pierce and Anden Tenis- De-Grote led Bandera with 11 points each. Jeffery Thomas ran the floor for all 32 minutes and scored 7 points.
James Bower led the team in assists and delivered a standout defensive effort.
Gavin Garcia (7 points) and Cooper Franklin (6) both posted season highs as Bandera rolled to a 53–27 win, their second straight victory.
