The Arthur Nagel Community Clinic raised more than $100,000 at its 11th annual Cork & Fork fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 15, marking the fourth consecutive year the event has reached six figures.
The evening carried added urgency after the Clinic received a challenge from the Carl & Marie Jo Anderson Foundation on Oct. 9.
The Foundation pledged to match up to $20,000 in new or increased donations. During the program, Chris Suchan, chief meteorologist with WOAI News 4 San Antonio and the event’s master of ceremonies, presented the challenge to the crowd of about 400 guests. Attendees exceeded the goal in a single night, unlocking the full match from the Foundation.
The event featured a gourmet dinner, music by Weldon Henson, a performance by the Trinitones of Trinity University, and a special salute to veterans.
The Clinic presented its Hometown Hero Award to Kevin Fitzpatrick for his service and commitment to the community.
Silent and live auctions, along with $24,000 raised through a firearms raffle, contributed to the total.
“The people of Bandera County showed once again why this is such a remarkable place to live,” said Chuck Lutke, outgoing executive director of the Clinic. “Their generosity at Cork & Fork directly strengthens our ability to provide primary health care for neighbors who lack insurance or the resources to obtain it.”
Proceeds from the event support the Clinic’s mission to provide accessible, compassionate primary care for uninsured Bandera County residents.
Next year’s Cork & Fork is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026.
