Lakehills Area Library to launch new fundraising event

The Lakehills Area Library is launching a new fundraising event in December featuring a two-day gold and silver appraisal program with Bandera Jewelers.

Master jeweler Jordan Marcum will be at the library on Monday, Dec. 8, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and at Bandera Jewelers on Tuesday, Dec. 9, during the same hours to appraise and purchase unwanted gold and silver jewelry, serving pieces, coins and other items.

Sellers may choose to donate a portion of their proceeds to the library. Bandera Jewelers will donate half of its profits from both days to support library programs and services.

The library’s monthly book sale is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Books are available inside the library during regular business hours, but the book barn opens only on the first Saturday sale.

The Christian Book Club will meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 1, and Monday, Dec. 15.

Preschool Storytime is offered twice each week due to high attendance. Sessions are held Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 1 p.m. The December schedule includes Stuffed Animal Story Time on Dec. 3–4, heating pad crafts on Dec. 10–11, and clay ornament making on Dec. 17–18.

Yarn Club continues to meet Fridays from 12:30 to 2 p.m. The group welcomes anyone interested in crochet, knitting, embroidery or other handcrafts, including beginners seeking help.

Library staff thanked the community for helping share information about upcoming programs and events.

Dianna Landes is the Director of the Lakehills Area Library.
