Debbie Breen, Tammy Ott Morrow and DeAnna McCabe won at-large seats on the Bandera City Council in the Nov. 4 election, while Heidi Battle, Brittany Hicks and Debra Killian Martinez captured Bandera ISD trustee positions, according to unofficial results released Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Breen led the council race with 167 votes, followed by Morrow with 153 and Mc-Cabe with 148.
Other candidates were incumbent Brett Hicks with 89 votes, incumbent Tony Battle with 84, John Teich Jr. with 52 and Cindy Coffey with 34.
A total of 3,201 ballots were cast, representing about 16.5 percent of registered county voters.
In the Bandera ISD elections, Martinez led the contested Place 7 race with 760 votes, followed by Rich Mc-Carthy with 690 and Crystal Black with 377.
Two incumbents ran unopposed: Heidi Battle received 1,700 votes for Place 6, and Brittany Hicks received 1,823 votes for Place 5.
Battle issued a statement thanking voters and congratulating the winners.
“I would like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who came out to the polls in support. I am proud of the clean, positive campaign we ran and of all that we have accomplished together over the past three years,” he said. “It has been an honor to work alongside our dedicated city staff and the Marshals Department — your commitment and professionalism are truly appreciated. And to the ‘witches,’ keep the cauldron hot — there is important work ahead! All humor aside, congratulations to the newly elected officials. I wish you great success in your roles, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if I can be of assistance as you transition into office.”
Hicks also shared his thoughts.
“Though the outcome wasn’t what I’d hoped for, I’m proud of the work over the last couple years and grateful for everyone who stood with and supported me along the way. I remain committed to serving our community in any way I can,” he said.

In countywide races, Bandera County voters joined the state in approving all 17 constitutional amendments on the ballot, according to unofficial results.
Results remain unofficial until canvassed.
