Reiche displaying work at Lakehills Area Library

The Lakehills Area Library is featuring the work of longtime Pipe Creek resident and digital print painter Susan Reiche as its November Artist of the Month.

Reiche began studying art at age 50 while living in Singapore, where she became captivated by the creative process.

She studied under master Chinese brush painters and took coursework at Nanyang University of Art, experiences that helped shape her distinctive style.

For many years, Reiche worked in traditional media including watercolor, oil, and acrylic. However, after health challenges made it difficult for her to stand at an easel, her husband, Bob, encouraged her to try digital painting.

Reiche began working with the Procreate program on an iPad and discovered that the experience closely mirrored painting on canvas while allowing her to continue creating from her chair.

Reiche now prints her digital paintings on canvas using museum-quality materials and pigment inks designed to last up to 100 years.

Her husband also handcrafts the wooden frames displayed with her work.

In addition to her paintings, the library exhibit includes examples of Reiche’s original nail art designs.

Reiche creates her own hand molds and produces reusable acrylic nail sets, which can be custom-ordered for holidays, special events, or personal style.

The exhibit will remain on display throughout November. For more information or to inquire about commissioned work, Reiche can be contacted at 830-688-1973.
