The Bandera County Convention & Visitors Bureau is inviting the community to celebrate the career and retirement of Patricia Moore, longtime executive director, and to participate in new tourism and fair initiatives.
Moore, who has led the CVB for many years, is credited with raising Bandera and Bandera County as premier destinations for authentic Texas experiences.
Under her leadership, the CVB has promoted scenic Hill Country trails, honky-tonk nights, local festivals, and family getaways, attracting visitors from across the globe.
The retirement celebration is set for Thursday, Nov. 13, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Bandera Brewery, 3540 State Highway 16 South.
The event is open to the public and will honor Moore’s “vision, leadership, and passion” in promoting Bandera as the Cowboy Capital of the World.
“We invite the community to join us in celebrating Patricia Moore for her many years of dedicated service, hard work, and unwavering commitment to growing Bandera’s tourism and preserving its authentic western charm,” said Carita Jundt, CVB manager.
The CVB is also accepting applications for its FY 2025–26 special advertising grants, designed to help organizations promote overnight tourism in Bandera County.
Both nonprofit and for-profit organizations are eligible. Applications are available at the Bandera Visitor Center, 126 State Highway 16 South, or by emailing manager@banderacowboycapital. com.
The deadline for submission is Nov. 20, and the board will review applications in January.
In addition, the Bandera County Fair Advisory Board is inviting junior high and high school students to submit logo designs for the first Bandera County Fair, scheduled for Oct. 13–18, 2026. Submissions are due Dec. 15 to the Bandera Visitor Center.
The winning design will become the fair’s official logo, with the artist receiving a ribbon or plaque, fair swag, and two complimentary passes.
The CVB and fair committee are also calling for community involvement in the fair’s planning.
A volunteer meeting will be held Monday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m. in the Bandera High School Library, 474 Old San Antonio Highway.
Residents, business owners, and community leaders are encouraged to attend to help plan entertainment, food, crafts, competitions, and other activities.
“We want this fair to truly represent all of Bandera County,” Jundt said. “This is a chance for the community to come together, share ideas, and build something lasting that celebrates our people and our heritage.”
