Hill Country CASA observing National Adoption month throughout November

Hill Country CASA is joining the national observance of National Adoption Month this November to raise awareness about the need for permanent families for children in foster care.

This year’s theme, “Empowering Youth: Finding Connections and Belonging,” emphasizes the importance of building lasting relationships and ensuring children have stable, supportive homes.

Hill Country CASA, which trains volunteers to advocate for children in the court system, works to guide youth toward safe, permanent placements.

“National Adoption Month is a powerful reminder that every child deserves a family,” said Stephanie Cash, executive director of Hill Country CASA. “Our volunteers are the voice for children in foster care, and their advocacy can be the bridge to a forever home.”

Amy Harding, outreach director, added: “Every child deserves a safe, stable, loving home. Children in foster care are not bad children—they are children who have had bad things happen to them, and they just want a place to call home.”

As part of the observance, the Child Protection Court of South Texas will host a Mass Adoption Day at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Kerr County Courthouse in Kerrville.

The event will finalize adoptions for several children.

Hill Country CASA encourages community members to consider volunteering or exploring adoption through the foster care system. For more information, visit www.hccasa.org or call 830-896-2272.
