Undergraduate and graduate students studying American history can now apply for one of ten $25,000 scholarships offered by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
Applications for the DAR America 250! Scholarship are open from Nov. 1, 2025, through Jan. 31, 2026.
The one-time awards will be distributed in 2026 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
According to DAR President General Ginnie Sebastian Storage, this marks the largest single-year scholarship effort in the organization’s history.
“We see no better way to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary than with these transformative and life-changing scholarships investing in the development of the next generation of American historians,” Storage said.
To qualify, applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in American history during 2026, maintain at least a 3.5 GPA, and submit a one-page essay about the nation’s founding or their own volunteer service.
Applications, transcripts and letters of recommendation must be submitted through the DAR Academic Works portal at https://dar. academicworks.com.
Questions may be directed to america250scholarship@ nsdar.org.
Founded in 1890, the DAR is a nonprofit, nonpolitical service organization with more than 190,000 members worldwide, dedicated to historic preservation, education and patriotism.
