The Medina Lady Cats and Bobcats enjoyed a victorious weekend Oct. 24–25.
In volleyball, the Lady Cats opened Friday with a tough road battle against Knippa.
A nearly 45-minute first set set the tone for the contest, signaling a hard-fought match ahead.
When the final point was scored, Medina came out on top in five sets, clinching the victory with a 15-10 score in the tiebreaker.
With the win, the Lady Cats now turn their focus to the playoffs.
Their bi-district match is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 30, in Three Rivers against Austwell-Tivoli.
The Bobcats were set for Friday night lights in Eden, but a lightning storm forced a delay and eventual postponement to Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.
The first quarter remained scoreless as both defenses held strong, but Medina found its rhythm in the second quarter, scoring two quick touchdowns before halftime.
The momentum continued after the break, with the Bobcats dominating the second half and ending the game by six-man mercy rule with 8:56 remaining in the fourth quarter.
The final score was Medina 54, Eden 7.
The Bobcats return home Friday, Oct. 31, for their Homecoming matchup against rival Leakey.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
