The Medina Lady Cats secured a spot in the state playoffs with a hard-fought 3-2 win over the Leakey Lady Eagles Friday night.
Leakey took the first set 25-20, but Medina bounced back, winning the next two sets 25-20 and 25-14.
The fourth set remained tight, with Leakey taking it 25-19 after late Medina miscues.
The Lady Cats dominated the deciding fifth set, taking it 15-8 to clinch the match and a playoff berth.
Medina will compete in the Texas State Playoffs starting the last week of October.
