The Arthur Nagel Community Clinic has received a $20,000 challenge grant from the Carl C. Anderson Sr. & Marie Jo Anderson Charitable Foundation to support its Elder Care Services for Low-Income Seniors program.
This marks the fifth consecutive year the clinic has received a challenge grant from the foundation.
The clinic has until the end of the year to raise $20,000 in new or increased donations from the community to secure the matching funds.
Contributions must come from new donors or returning supporters who increase their gifts beyond the previous year’s amount.
One of the clinic’s main fundraising events, Cork & Fork, plays a key role in meeting the challenge.
The 2025 event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Farm Country Club in Bandera. Last year, Cork & Fork grossed $150,000 and attracted many firsttime contributors, helping the clinic meet its previous Anderson challenge.
“We’re deeply grateful to the Anderson Foundation for once again believing in our mission and helping us strengthen health care access for Bandera County residents,” said Chuck Lutke, executive director of the clinic. “This challenge inspires our community to step forward in new ways—whether by making a first-time gift or increasing their annual support—to ensure our neighbors, especially seniors, continue to receive the care they deserve.”
The Arthur Nagel Community Clinic provides no-cost primary medical care, mental health services, and wellness programs for low-income and uninsured residents of Bandera County. Since opening in 2008, the clinic has served thousands of local patients through community- supported health care.
