Editor’s Note: Tammy Morrow was given the same questions as the other candidates. She elected to answer them in the below response.

I am 58 years old, and my family has called Bandera County home for over 50 years, with the last 33 years spent in the city of Bandera. My husband, Clay, and I are proud parents of five grown children and seven grandchildren. I spent 28 years working for Bandera ISD and currently serve as a deputy tax clerk at the Bandera County Tax Assessor’s office. Throughout the years, I have been deeply involved in local youth sports, serving on the boards of the Bandera County Flag Football Association and Bandera Little League. I was also a founding member of the Bandera Sports Complex, where I played an integral role in its early development, collaborating with some of Bandera’s most respected community leaders, such as Jean and Al Heep, Don Jones, Russell Hevenor, and Jim Chastain. These experiences taught me the importance of community service and the impact of working together to bring about a venue for the youth to enjoy.

I am an active member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and am heavily involved in DogFest-Bandera County All-Class Reunion. This organization hosts an annual event for all Bandera County alumni, which takes place during the second weekend of June. My primary responsibility is maintaining the memorial list of former classmates, which wehonorduringtheweekend. As a candidate, I want voters to know that they can trust me to be honest and transparent. I have no personal agenda nor am I seeking to serve a select few. My goal is to give every citizen a voice, and I believe in fostering open dialogue. While I may not always agree with everyone, I am committed to listening to diverse viewpoints without judgment and welcoming insights from all corners of the community.

With the growth we are experiencing across the county, we can expect the city to face similar challenges. My priority will be to ensure that growth is managed responsibly, rather than left unchecked. This includes ensuring our infrastructure cankeepupwithdemand and protecting the unique character of Bandera. Smart, thoughtful development that complements our town is essential— not to overwhelm it. I look forward to collaborating with local residents and businesses to ensure that growth benefits the people who already live here, rather than outside developers.

One of Bandera’s greatest assets is its resilience, which is rooted in the strength of its people. It’s the residents who appreciate Bandera’s unique charm and work to preserve it. Long-time residents share the history of the town, and organizations such as the Bandera Business Association, Bandera Chamber of Commerce, Bandera Visitors Bureau, and Frontier Times Museum play a vital role in showcasing what makes Bandera special. We are fortunate to have so many volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to improving our community.

I am a “why” person. While some may not see it as an asset, I view it as a strength. I question things and never take them at face value, seeking clarity before making decisions.

I believe in making decisions based on facts and thoughtful consideration, ensuring that the outcomes are in the best interest of our community.

Youcouldsaymyweakness is accepting change. I’ll admit that I can be cautious when it comes to change. I like to fully understand how it will affect people before jumping in. But I’ve learned that change is often necessary, and by asking questions and listening to different perspectives, I’m getting better at adapting while still making sure decisions are thoughtful and responsible.
