BMS volleyball teams fall to Devine

Bandera Middle School’s volleyball teams struggled against Devine on Monday, with all four squads coming up short.

7th Grade B

The Bulldogs lost in two sets, 25-23 and 25-13.

Evangelina Rodriguez sparked a first-set comeback with five consecutive points on serve.

Kendall Jess, Kaiya Raab, and Presley Binnert added strong serving performances, while Jess, Raab, and Sayla Hayes improved their serve-receive skills.

The loss dropped Bandera’s 7th grade B team to 1-3 for the season.

7th Grade A

The 7th grade A team fell 25-19, 25-17, bringing their district record to 0-4 and overall record to 4-4.

Harper Word recorded two aces, two assists, and one dig, while Avery Ashcraft added two aces. Trenlie Kocurek contributed key back-row plays.

The Lady Bulldogs host Pearsall Monday, Sept. 29.

8th Grade B

Bandera’s 8th grade B team suffered its first loss of the season in a hardfought match.

Coaches praised the team’s determination and resilience, noting the girls fought for every point and set.

8th Grade A The 8th grade A team dropped two close sets, 25-20 and 25-19.

Harper Hartsfield had one ace, three digs, one kill, and five assists; Natalie Hauer had three digs; Sydney Bowman had seven digs and one kill; Hailee Feller added one ace and one kill; Harper Hicks recorded two digs, two kills, and one block; Colbie Lalanne had two kills and four assists.

Emily Short had one dig and one kill; Brenna Byrd contributed one ace, six digs, two kills, and one assist; and Haisley Wright, Karina Young, and Mika Gray each added digs.

The Lady Bulldogs will face Pearsall next week at home to begin the second round of district play.
