League of Women Voters meeting Thursday

The League of Women Voters of the Hill Country Texas will hold a meeting Thursday, Oct. 2, at 9 a.m. at the Hen’s Nest, 1134C Main Street.

Breakfast will be “Dutch treat,” and anyone interested in the League is welcome to attend.

The meeting will focus on the upcoming elections in Bandera County, including 17 proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution, the Bandera ISD School Board Place 7 race with three candidates, and the Bandera City Council election with seven candidates.

Attendees will also discuss plans to “Get Out the Vote” and distribute League voter guides in early October.

The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 4 election is Monday, Oct. 6. Registered voters can update their information online at votetexas.gov.

Texas does not allow online voter registration, but forms can be printed, completed, and submitted by mail or in person at the Bandera County Election Department.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, nonprofit civic organization that encourages active participation in government and does not support or oppose candidates for elected office.

The Hill Country Texas League serves Bandera, Blanco, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr and Llano counties.
