Savvy Seniors Savings Program: Scam Awareness will be presented on Wednesday, Oct. 1 and Scam Prevention will be presented on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 2-3 p.m. This class is for low-income senior citizens age 55 and up. It is a financial presentation, sponsored by Silver Sage, National Council on Aging, and Bank of America. Attend all sessions and receive a $50 gift card to Silver Sage Thrift Store.

Macrame Plant Hanger will be taught Saturday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. by Yvette Gomez. $30 per person. Register and pre-pay at front desk. All materials, including pot, provided.
Board meeting is Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 4:30 p.m. The public is welcome; and the Board is seeking more members.
Blood Drive will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the library meeting room. All who donate will receive a gift card from $10 to $150. Every donor is guaranteed a card of some amount. Sponsored by South Texas Blood & Tissue.
Garden Club meets Saturday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. to discuss “Winter Strategies,” presented by Gwen Lingenfelter.
Early Voting will begin Monday, Oct. 20, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Voting will take place in the meeting room from Monday through Friday for two weeks. The last two days, Oct. 30 and 31, voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
There are 17 propositions on the ballot, all of which are important.
Election Day Voting is Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the library meeting room.
Evening Book Club will meet Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 5:30 to discuss “The Sundown Motel” by Simone St. James.
Halloween Track or Treat will be held Friday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. The library will hand out candy and the public is invited.
Holiday Bazaar & Garage Sale on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. needs more vendors. This fundraiser is perfect for Christmas shopping. Tacos, Frito Pie, and baked items will be available. Call for more information and to reserve a space.
