The Hill Country League of Women Voters will present a Voter 101 session Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lakehills Area Library, 7200 FM 1283, Lakehills. The session is free and open to the public, and no registration is required.
Heather Farmer, the League’s Civics Education Chair, will provide up-to-date information about voting in Bandera County ahead of the Nov. 4 election.
Topics will include proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution, Bandera ISD School Board elections, and Bandera City Council races.
The session will cover election laws, early voting, election-day procedures, voting by mail, provisional voting, voter registration, and opportunities to become a Volunteer Deputy Registrar, poll worker, or poll watcher.
Participants will also learn how to use voter guides produced by the League.
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, nonprofit civic organization that does not endorse or oppose candidates.
The Hill Country League has served residents in Bandera, Blanco, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, and Llano counties for 46 years, focusing on voter registration, candidate and issue education, and voter participation. Residents aged 16 and older may join by paying annual dues.
