Vanessa Sivadge, a former nurse at Texas Children’s Hospital and founder of Protecting Texas Children, is scheduled to speak at a Bandera County GOP event Thursday, Sept. 11, at 6 p.m. at the Bandera Electric Cooperative meeting room, 3172 TX-16. Light snacks will be provided.
Sivadge gained national attention after publicly alleging that the hospital continued gender transition treatments for minors in violation of Texas law.
Her claims have prompted investigations by the FBI, state authorities, and congressional oversight, as well as criminal indictments and leadership changes at the hospital.
She has said hospital staff pressured parents to allow hormone therapy and other treatments for their children, sometimes misclassifying the procedures to secure Medicaid funding. Sivadge also reported that FBI agents visited her home, asking her to assist in locating another whistleblower, an encounter she described as intimidating.
Sivadge’s organization, Protecting Texas Children, advocates for policies and initiatives aimed at safeguarding children’s well-being and raising awareness about issues affecting minors.
The group has promoted public policy changes at the state level. More information is available at www.protectingtexaschildren. com.
The Bandera County GOP said the event is part of its ongoing effort to engage residents on issues involving children’s safety and public policy.
