BHS runners excel in invitational

The 4th of July Pet PaThe Bandera High School cross country teams competed in their 4th annual Steve Golemon Bandera Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 6, with strong performances from both girls and boys squads.

The varsity girls placed third out of 12 teams with 54 points, just seven points behind first-place Fredericksburg.

Sophomore Kaylee Fried led the Lady Bulldogs, finishing seventh.

Other top finishers included senior Riley Lalanne (10th), sophomore Aubrie Moore (11th), Milesia Casas (12th), Xoi Cook (14th), senior Lori King (22nd) and freshman Casi Williams (28th).

The junior varsity girls captured first place with 23 points, ahead of Carrizo Springs (34) and Crystal City (85).

Sophomore Emma Rynarzewski led the squad with a third-place finish, closely followed by freshman Veronica Ibarra in fifth.

Additional medalists were Briley Clark (8th), Bella Fazio (10th), Jayla Hinojo (13th), Abigail Gilbert (17th), Alivia Pack (19th), and Isabella Saenz (20th).

On the boys side, the varsity squad placed ninth out of 16 teams. Zach Goodin led the way, finishing seventh with a time of 17:41.

Teammates Ayden Sarver (42nd), Luciano Martinez (51st), Michael Ramirez (74th), Carter Rissmiller (76th), Cooper Cale (80th), Adan Sixtos (88th), Walter Roque (98th), and Dominic Garcia (108th) contributed to a solid team effort.

The junior varsity boys were paced by Tristan Wilson, who finished fifth in 21:06. Dominic J. Garcia (37th), Carson Garza (40th), Marcus Gonzalez (41st), Ashton Vargas (42nd), and Aiden Mc-Clintock (43rd) ran closely together.
