Seems like it when you read his directives in the Bible:
• Matthew 19:21 “Sell your possessions and give to the poor.”
• Luke 4:18 “Proclaim good news to the poor, freedom for the prisoners.”
• Isaiah 58:6 “Chosen to break the chains of wickedness. To untie the cords of the yoke. To set the oppressed free and tear off every yoke.”
• Matthew 25:34-40 “I was hungry, and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger, and you welcomed me. I was sick and you looked after me. I was in prison, and you came to visit me.”
Matthew 25:34-40 was summarized by Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, a lawyer and Democrat representing Texas’s 30th Congressional District, during a TV clash with Republican Mike Huckabee, the US Ambassador to Israel, a Baptist Minister and conservative political commentator.
CNN reported the clash between Crockett and Huckabee is an AI generated video. Other Internet sources contend it really happened. Real or not, doesn’t matter. According to the Bible and - there are 450 known versions of the Bible in English - Christians must be humble and forgiving. They must care for the poor, the sick and the disabled.
TRUMP’S POLICIES DIFFER
But the big beautiful budget bill Trump signed into law on July 4, 2025, “steals from the poor and gives to the ultra-rich,” according to the U.S. House Committee On The Budget.
It studied the bill for a month and concluded more than 15 million Americans will lose their health care. Food assistance will disappear for millions. It eliminates 760,000 jobs and adds $3.4 trillion to the deficit. The richest 0.1% of Americans get a tax cut of $310,825 a year. Meanwhile, an “average household making less than $15,000 a year will see a tax increase of over 9% in 2027.” Republicans disagree, claiming Trump’s bill benefits the poor. Yet pastors and Catholic priests across the nation condemn it.
