Master Gardeners open class registration for 2026

The Hill Country Master Gardeners are accepting applications for their 2026 new member training classes, which begin Feb. 10.

The program is open to gardeners of all experience levels who want to expand their horticultural knowledge while contributing to community projects.

Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Hill Country Youth Event Center in Kerrville.

Training topics include plant biology, soil science, pest management, vegetable gardening, landscape design and sustainable practices.

Participants will receive hands-on instruction and mentorship from certified Master Gardeners.

“Whether you’re a novice gardener or a seasoned horticulturalist, these classes offer a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow,” said Donna Bellis, chair of the group’s Education Committee. “Our programs are not only about the joys and challenges of gardening in the Texas Hill Country; they’re about fostering a community that shares a passion for nature and sustainable practices.”

The cost of the program is $225, which includes a textbook and support materials. Scholarships may be available.

Class size is limited, and acceptance may be determined by the date applications are received.

Residents of Kerr, Kendall, Gillespie, Bandera and Real counties are eligible to apply.

Registration is available at hillcountrymastergardeners. org.
