The Bandera Bulldogs kicked off the 2026 season with a strong performance in their first scrimmage against the Natalia Mustangs, winning 2-1.

The Bulldog offense wasted no time getting on the board. Juan Cabrera scored the first touchdown with a strong run up the middle behind the Bulldog offensive line. Later, Dalton Parks extended the lead with a second touchdown, showcasing the Bulldogs’ offensive power.

On defense, the Bulldogs were equally impressive. The defensive line held firm, applying consistent pressure, while the defensive backs shut down the Mustangs’ passing game. Defensive standout Caleb Tippit made several key plays that stalled Natalia’s drives.

The team’s overall performance reflected the hard work and dedication of the off-season, though coaches note there is still work to be done. The Bulldogs will have their second scrimmage Thursday, Aug. 28, against SA Burbank.

The first regular-season game is scheduled for Sept. 4 at Poteet against the Poteet Aggies. Fans who can’t make the trip can see the Bulldogs in their home opener on Sept. 5 against the Ingram Warriors.
