Medina’s future educators bring home national honors

Medina High School’s Texas Association of Future Educators chapter brought home top honors from the National Educators Rising Conference this summer in Orlando, Florida.

The competition recognized several Medina students for their achievements in education-related events.

Sienna Carter won the national championship in Varsity Job Interview. Ella Castillo placed third in Varsity Lesson Planning and Delivery Arts.

Audrey Gatlin and Mia Garcia earned Red Ribbon Finalist honors in Varsity Elementary Interactive Bulletin Board, while Kloe Crowther was named a National Top Qualifier in Junior Varsity Interactive Bulletin Board.

Medina ISD officials thanked sponsors and community members for supporting the group’s trip to nationals.

“We’re so proud of our students’ dedication, talent and hard work,” Sherri Kelly Medina TAFE Teacher Leader. “Your support helped us represent Medina ISD on the national stage and bring recognition back to our school and community.”

The event also marked a milestone for two seniors continuing their education. Carter will attend the University of Texas, and Castillo will attend Texas A&M University.

The chapter is now preparing for the 2025–26 school year, which will follow the Texas TAFE state theme, “Blooming in the Garden of Education.”
