Retired professional photographer Jerry Jilek is exhibiting some of his photography at the Lakehills Area Library during the month of August. He has displayed his work before but this is the first time since 2019.
All of Jilek’s photos are available for purchase and he is donating all the proceeds to the library. Simply inquire at the front desk and donate what you can. He can make more prints, in different sizes, of anything you like.
Jilek retired from the Air Force after serving for 30 years. He chose Lakehills to be his retirement home and he loves to take photos of nature, wildlife and landscapes.
He said he has been taking pictures since he was 14, when he was given a camera.
“Nature is God’s gift to us. I like to record what I see,” said Jilek.
Adalyn Joy Sears is exhibiting her creative crochet items in the library’s display case during August. She is fourteen years old and has been crocheting for three years.
“I love to crochet because I enjoy the creative process, staying busy, and hopefully bringing a little extra joy to someone,” Sears said.
Her works are also available for purchase and she is using the proceeds to save for college, where she intends to major in architecture and interior design. Even then, Sears will donate 20% of the proceeds to the library.
Sears can do custom crochet items and she can be contacted by email at [email protected].
The library’s website is lakehillslibrary.org or follow them on Facebook.
