Peterson Health receives national recognition for hospice, home care programs

Peterson Health’s Hospice and Home Care programs have received national recognition from Strategic Healthcare Programs for exceptional patient and caregiver satisfaction in 2024.

Peterson Hospice was named a “Premier Performer” by SHP for ranking in the top 5% of eligible clients nationwide in overall caregiver and family experience.

Peterson Home Care was named a “Superior Performer,” placing in the top 20% for patient experience scores.

“These organizations care deeply about the patient experience and never stop striving to improve every single year,” said SHP President Kevin Vogel. “We are proud to acknowledge their tireless efforts through our annual SHPBest award program.”

According to a press release, SHP reviewed CAHPS (Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) survey data from more than 1,800 hospice providers and 3,200 home health agencies across the country to determine award recipients.

The SHPBest program recognizes healthcare providers that consistently deliver high-quality service to patients, families and caregivers.

“This recognition highlights our commitment to providing exceptional, compassionate, patient-centered hospice and home care to our community,” said John Mc-Donald, president and CEO of Peterson Health. “It is an honor to receive this award, and I am so proud of our entire team and their dedication to the patients and families we serve.”

Peterson Health Hospice has served the Texas Hill Country for more than 30 years. It is the only nonprofit, five-star rated hospice agency in the area and is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care with Deemed Status.
