The League of Women Voters of the Hill Country Texas will hold a meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 31, at The Hen’s Nest, located at 1134C Main St. in Bandera. The meeting is open to the public, and breakfast will be “Dutch treat.”
The League includes members from Bandera County and distributes nonpartisan voter guides at libraries and other locations throughout the region for every election. Thursday’s agenda includes discussion of voter registration efforts and planning for Women’s Equality Day on Aug. 26, which commemorates the ratification of the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote.
The League of Women Voters is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that encourages informed and active participation in government. It does not support or oppose political candidates or parties.
The Hill Country chapter serves six counties: Bandera, Blanco, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, and Llano.
