The Medina Community Library welcomed two retired archaeologists, Colleen Nicholas and Wade Parsons, on Monday night for an educational program on the Native American history of the Medina area. The event featured a display of artifacts and a presentation on the foods Indigenous peoples ate, their hunting practices, and how they stored and transported food. Attendees also participated in a hands-on pottery activity, painting pots with traditional colors and symbols used by Native American tribes. The family-friendly event was well attended and is part of Medina’s ongoing series of programs tied to the Smithsonian’s visit to Bandera County.
