“With the launch of our national campaign, TNT is providing three easy tips to help families and friends stay safe as we celebrate our nation’s independence,” said Carson Anderson, president of TNT Fireworks, in a press release. “Barbecues and backyard celebrations are a patriotic tradition. When used safely, responsibly, legally and disposed of properly, fireworks provide safe, family fun.” The campaign centers around three key guidelines: “Stay Legal. Be Safe. Act Responsibly.”
Stay Legal: TNT encourages consumers to know and follow local laws regarding the types of fireworks allowed and when they can be used. The company urges consumers to purchase only from licensed retailers and consult municipal websites or fire departments for guidance.
Be Safe: Fireworks should only be used in clear, dry areas away from buildings and vegetation. Users should read and follow all instructions and keep spectators at a safe distance.
Act Responsibly: TNT advises keeping water and a fire extinguisher nearby, avoiding fireworks in brush or wooded areas, and bracing fireworks with fire-resistant materials. Used fireworks should be fully soaked in water before disposal.

• Never carry fireworks in a pocket or relight duds.
• Do not use fireworks under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Only light one firework at a time and never aim them at people, animals or structures.
