Bandera Varsity Cheerleaders swept up the awards at the UCA Camp this week at Texas State University.

For the first time in many years, they brought home the coveted “Top Banana” Award, and also for 4 straight years the Leadership Award, which goes to the team that the entire camp votes for as the team they most liked to work with who showed character, spirit and leadership throughout the whole camp week.

Two girls were selected as All American Cheerleaders (Jewell Howell-Marsh and Samantha Carter.

The team is also invited to two major national events (televised parades and a UCA Gala) that they may choose to attend later for winning these awards at camp.

Currently, the BHS Varsity cheer team is under the direction of Kim Mooney and Susan Short.

The coaches would like to thank the parents of these girls, along with the athletes themselves, for showing true Bulldog tenacity and small-town values while representing their school.
