Gas prices across Texas are continuing to fall as the summer driving season kicks into high gear, according to AAA Texas’ latest “Weekend Gas Watch.”
The statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $2.75—down 4 cents from last week and 38 cents lower than this time last year.
Texas remains among the cheapest states for fuel, second only to Mississippi.
“Even with increased demand during Memorial Day weekend, prices have declined thanks to steady global oil prices and higher domestic production,” said AAA Texas spokesperson Daniel Armbruster. “However, we remind drivers that hurricane season and other unexpected events could still cause volatility.”
