A longtime member of Eastern Star Chapter 643 in Bandera, Loretta Lindley was awarded the coveted Golden Star Award on Tuesday, May 13.
Mrs. Lindley accepted the award with 14 of her family members in attendance.
She was selected by a committee created to evaluate all candidates.
Winners must be members of the chapter for at least three years. Nominees also have to have participated as an officer, committee member or volunteer at the chapter level.
Mrs. Lindley is a 49-year member of the Eastern Star. She has served the group in many capacities.
A pin and certificate were presented to Mrs. Lindley at the ceremony before the chapter’s stated meeting on Tuesday, May 13.
This was the first year that the Golden Star Award was given in Bandera.
The Golden Star award represents the best of the best in the Eastern Star.
These award winners have served their community through volunteer work or through service as an officer or committee member.
The candidates did not have to serve as Worthy Patron or Worthy Matron to be considered.
