For those looking for unique nighttime activities just a short drive from the Cowboy Capital of the World, a new Hill Country adventure may be worth the trip.
GlowRow, a Texas-based tourism company known for its illuminated nighttime kayak tours, recently launched its first Hill Country location in Kerrville.
The guided excursions take paddlers down a glowing stretch of the Guadalupe River beneath the Francisco Lemos Bridge — a prime spot for bat watching as thousands emerge into the night sky.
The Kerrville site, which opened earlier this spring, offers LED-lit clear kayaks and patented glowing paddles that light up the water with more than 20,000 lumens.
Tours are led by certified guides and equipped with Coast Guard–approved safety gear and onboard SOS systems.

This Kerrville launch marks its first expansion into the Hill Country, where mild weather and stable river conditions offer ideal paddling throughout the summer.
Tours are open to adults 18 and older and operate by reservation only, launching at dusk to coincide with the nightly bat flights.
