SIGN HONORS ARKEY BLUE

SIGN HONORS ARKEY BLUE
On May 1, Arkey Blue’s Silver Dollar Saloon was honored with the dedication of Arkey Blue’s Silver Dollar Highway, coinciding with the venue’s 57th anniversary. The sign, located at Main and Cedar Streets in Bandera, was officially recognized by the Office of the Governor, according to a social media post from the City of Bandera. The Governor’s website, The saloon, owned by singer-songwriter Arkey Juenke, has hosted legends like Willie Nelson and Robert Earl Keen and was once named one of Texas’s best honky-tonks by Country Music Television. Originally built in 1921 and renamed the Silver Dollar in the 1940s, the venue has been under Juenke’s ownership since 1968. Local officials, business leaders, and community members gathered for the celebration. COURTESY PHOTO
