Read moreDylan Stevens, a 2008 Bandera High School Graduated, finished 113th in the 126th Boston Marathon with a time of 2:29:36. This year’s race featured 24,822 racers. Stevens maintained a 5:43 pace, bettering his place by 29 positions compared to his performance last October. He placed 100th out of 14,258 for the male gender and 93rd for males age 18-39. According to his mother, Yvonne Kamppi of Tarpley, Dylan hopes to crack the top 100 next year and currently resides in Erie, PA. Courtesy Photo
Read moreCadets from the Bandera High School Navy JROTC loaded a bus and traveled to Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio for April 23’s Great Texas Airshow, where they were treated to flight demonstrations of military aircraft spanning from WWII to the US Air Force Thunderbirds Flight Demonstration Team. Static displays allowed them the opportunity to view and even go inside airplanes while interacting with aircrew. The event included traditional festival elements like funnel cake, a variety of food options, and freebies given out by local companies such as H-E-B and Black Rifle Coffee. Ms. Rosa read “G is for Goats,” and then then Ms. Alison led the children and their parents outside to visit Mr. Dale Naumann's three baby angora goats. The children and their families not only got to pet the goats, but they got to bottle feed them too.
