On May 6, 2019, Floriene “Flo” Guillaudeu Sorrell Thompson was called home to her Father and Savior.
Flo was born Dec. 17, 1927 to William Guillaudeu and Daisy Monday Guillaudeu in San Antonio. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, sisters Nell, Martha and Ethel, a brother, Bill, and first husband Delbert Sorrell.
Flo is survived by husband David Thompson; sons John Sorrell and wife Vicki, Scott Sorrell and wife Ann; Marianne and Heinz Weinmann, David Thompson and Doyce; grandchildren Lacey Sorrell, Tiffany Sorrell and Stefanie, Amanda Zaiontz and Mark, Brittany Marikos and Andrew, Dee Thompson, David Jones, Brandi Jones; great-grandchildren McKenzie, Abby, Sara, Reiley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Flo grew up on farms in Dimmit and Zavala counties, helping her family with farming and ranching. She and her family moved to Helotes in 1958. She had two sons and raised her family in Helotes.
She went to work as a buyer for UT Health Science Center San Antonio in 1968 and stayed until her retirement in 1995.
Flo and Dave have been active in the Castle Lake Ranch Volunteer Fire Department, helping with numerous fundraisers and making many friends along the way.
She lived 91 years loving and caring for family and friends.
Visitation was held at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Bandera from 2 – 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2019.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2019.
Interment followed services at Phillips Cemetery in Dripping Springs, Texas.
