Memorial Day parade winners ID’d

The Bandera County Chamber of Commerce has announced the top finishers in four categories of the Memorial Day Weekend parade that it held in Bandera on May 25.

The Berges Fest float won the City-Community Festival category, the Brothel Babes – Bandera Ale Project float won the Commercial Business category, the Bandera Mounted Shooters & Trail Riders claimed the Horse Drawn – Mounted – Western category and the Alzafar Shiners of Central and South Texas took the Miscellaneous category at the parade.

Other entrants with top-ranked floats were the Gillespie County Fair Association, which won second place, and the 2018-2019 Kerr County Fair’s Queen’s Court, which captured third place in the City – Community Festival category; Kountry Kurl Salon, second place, and the Red Horse Saloon – Bandera Wranglers, third place in the Commercial Business category; and the Hill Country State Natural Area’s Junior Rangers team, second place, and the Rusty Cowboy Wagon, third place, in the Horse Drawn-Mounted-Western category.

Also, in the Miscellaneous category, the Black Water Holla float received second place and the Robbins Ranch float took third place.

Chamber officials thanked all the parade entrants and volunteers who turned out to make the annual event so much fun for another large crowd.

The chamber called the event a “a great weekend for Bandera County and celebrating Memorial Day!”
