I am glad to say that after 27 years I am returning home to Texas, but this time it’s my husband’s idea and that makes it more satisfying.

During the short time we have been transitioning back to Texas I am happy to report we bought a house in the city, property in the county (for our future house) and opened a little shop on Main.

I feel recognition is important when you experience something so wonderful and this is the purpose of my letter. Nearly everybody in this community that I have come into contact with have been so warm and welcoming. One such notable example is Brian Black, owner of the Longhorn Saloon. I met Brian in town and let me say he is the next best thing to a welcome wagon. I knew he was busy but instead took the time to answer my questions about the city and how it’s growing (I was concerned over the dollar stores and new Hotel). After all losing the identity of a town so dependent on tourism is catastrophic. So many businesses depend on it.

I was enlightened by his passion for this little town and its success and have found only a handful that possess such conviction. As a result of our conversation he inspired me to open my business and buy my house.

Bandera should be proud to know that you have an ambassador who represents your community. A true cowboy for a “Cowboy Town.”

On another note I would like to give a thank you to Kelly from Hill Country Embroidery, all of the ladies on the strip who have provided me with advice, my people at Hill Country Bank, Leah from Thelma and Louise, Dr. Sako and Susan along with all of her staff from the “ Flying L Ranch who have provided me with insight for residing in Bandera.

I look forward to becoming a contributing member of this community in the near future. God Bless Bandera and God Bless America!
