This letter is in response to arguments in the Bandera Bulletin and the Bandera County Courier about hotel & motel tax monies.

First, (county) commissioners have the local right to use HOT funds for a Visitor Center.

Second, the Convention & Visitors Bureau has been given five-seventh of the HOT funds for the next year, plus $70,000 left over from this year, equaling approximately $350,000.

Thirdly, maybe the CVB should consider spending more money on advertising instead of administration, instead of a 50-50 split.

Fourth, and last, when has the CVB ever advertised for Backroads Reservations (whose leadership questioned the HOT allocation to the CVB) and our growing bed and breakfast industry?
