Interesting how many opinions appear in the paper regarding the city and the running of it.

Love the way people move here because “it is such a cute city,” then want what they had in the town they left. Or, they move here and think they don’t have to abide by any of our ordinances or laws. But bet they had to abide by them in the towns they left.

Talk about sick looking Main Street, how about old buildings that were to be demolished and something great being put in place...wrong! Guess when you get a permit (if you get one) it is supposed to last a lifetime.

To insinuate that they people running for council are incompetent or uneducated is certainly not a very nice thing to do. Especially when you haven’t lived here very long. I am sure those of you moving here from the “big city or other countries” are much more qualified than any of us “ol natives” to run a city.

So, when did you last run for an office?

If you feel you are so intelligent and qualified then by all means take over. Then maybe you will see that there are actually somethings you were unaware of in the running of the county and the city. Someone once said, “when you make your town look like the one the tourist left then they will quit coming.”

I feel bad that we as a county/city aren’t up to your standards, but you didn’t have to move here.

Nice rant. It reads like ebonics....of the northeastern variety.
    Geez...public education now-a-days....
