AARP Smart Driver Course will be held at Silver Sage Community Center on May 16 from 12:30 – 4:30 p.m. This course teaches defensive driving techniques, proven safety strategies, and new traffic laws and rules of the road. There are no tests to pass. Upon completion you could receive a multi-year discount on your car insurance. The cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. You simply sign up by calling Silver Sage at 830-796-4969 and learn.

With the temperatures climbing, people are looking for cool places to go. Silver Sage is a perfect place to come eat, bring friends to play board or card games, sit out in the garden early in the mornings, or participate in some of the activities offered. The Center also has WIFI for your convenience. The dining room is a nice, quiet place after lunch where you can play games or work on your laptop. The facility is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Silver Sage website is highly informative. If you haven’t checked out, then you don’t know what you are missing! The site is kept up-to-date with menus, activities, special events, Opry information, and more. You can find ways to donate, to sign up to volunteer, and to send emails. There is even a map showing the location of The Center.

Remember – Silver Sage isn’t just for seniors any more!
