Obama’s shady union ties

Would most people consider it quite odd that the president of the most infamous union in the country-the AFL-CIO-brags about how frequently he is a visitor to the White House? In his words, that’s two or three times a week, and that’s in addition to his numerous weekly phone conversations with White House officials.

What union business could possibly require such a close alliance between the AFL-CIO and president Barack Hussein Obama? Certainly, we can only hazard a guess, but if AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka’s actions in the recent past are any indication, he’s getting more than tea and crumpets during his visits.

Unless you watch FOX News, there’s little likelihood you saw Trumka a couple of weeks ago in Wisconsin whipping the teachers’ union crowd into a frenzy with an eerily Hitler-like display with arms pumping and flailing, fingers thrusting, and that corpulent face filled with hate and rage. It was quite a memorable sight and probably effectively engendered precisely the type of response he was after.

What this columnist finds so disturbing is the type of company “our” president keeps. Trumka is no Johnny-come-lately to mob violence and flagrant corruption—not by a long shot. He has a long history of inciting violence and deadly force to further his nefarious union agenda.

In 1993, when Trumka was president of United Mine Workers, he orchestrated a multi-state coal miners strike and ordered more than 17,000 union workers to walk off their jobs. By whatever means necessary, he ensured no one would work in a mine unless they paid union dues or agency fees to the union. Not only that, he told strikers to “kick the s*** out of” those employees and mine operators who resisted union demands.

Taking Trumka at his word, union thugs cut power to one mine which temporarily trapped 93 miners underground. They also vandalized homes and fired shots at the office of another mine. But, the most horrific act of all was the murder of Eddie York, a nonunion heavy equipment operator/contractor. He was shot in the back of the head by a union goon as he drove past strikers at a West Virginia work site. As if that weren’t enough, a hoard of union thugs pelted York’s rescuers with rocks as they attempted to render assistance.

Did Trumka apologize? Not even close. His arrogant response was: “I’m saying if you strike a match and put your finger in, common sense tells you you’re going to burn your finger.” What a nice way to tell York’s widow and family that York had it coming.

Trumka’s tawdry past is quite diverse. Among his other accomplishments, he was also linked to a half-dozen money-laundering schemes totaling nearly a million dollars, but he always managed to elude prosecution. What a travesty.

So what does all this have to do with the price of tea in China? Unions have been overwhelming supporters of Democrats for decades. Not only do they provide Democrats a sizeable voter base, but considerable financial support as well. A recently published list of the 24 leading union political campaign contributors was very revealing.         From 1990 - 2010, these unions contributed $486.4 million to Democrat political campaigns. AFL-CIO’s part was over $17 million of that total. Compare that with the Republicans who received only $26.2 million of the total contributions from both parties. Of that, AFL-CIO donated only $713 thousand to Republicans.

Other unions which also contributed disproportionately huge amounts to Democratic candidates: the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees ($40.3 million); International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers ($29.7 million); American Federation of Teachers ($25.7 million); National Education Association $27.7 million); and, last but not least, Service Employees International Union (SEIU)($26.3 million).

It wouldn’t be a stretch to assume the Democrats, and certainly “our” president, surely must be beholden to those who fatten their coffers.  These kinds of favors simply don’t go unrewarded, and Obama certainly has a track record of helping his union buddies like the United Auto Workers. Union political contributions are nothing more than bribes. Clearly, this corrupt practice must be stopped before another important election is skewed and special favors are doled out by bought-and-paid-for politicians.

It comes as no surprise to me that Obama has relationships with such evil people as the Felon Richard Trumka, Felon Bill Ayers, Gadaffi supporters Rev. Wright & Farrakhan, Felon Tony Rezko and an Administration chock full of Tax-evading Felons. Charles Krauthammer, a Contributor for Fox, put it simply: "Do not pay attention to what Obama says he will do, rather pay closest attention to what he actually does". Our Nation is going to fail Economically and Socially while Obama is President, I will bet everything I have earned in my life on it. After Obama's public Statements about Governor Walker "Denigrating the Unions" in Wisconsin, it is crystal clear that our Nation will never be able to make a single budget cut required to pay down our deficits without a National Protest. Obama is our President and he has yet to see a budget passed by Congress in his 2.5 years in the Whitehouse. The self serving greed of the Unions & the Felon Richard Trumka have made it clear that in order for our Economy to ever improve, the Unions can no longer exist along with Obama. This isn't a game of blink or a tug of war. This is leading to the demise of Western Civilization, unfortunately the Unions, the Democrats and Obama are destroying the future for our Children and Grandchildren.
