Correction- Kids camp registration for Mt. Zion summer camp must be given to Helping Hand by May 14, not May 23 as previously reported.

A 30,000-gallon rainwater storage tank has been built by Helping Hand next to our Arthur Nagel Health Clinic to irrigate our grounds, including a Tranquility Park and Garden to be built in the center of our property.  The rainwater and dew off of every roof on our property will be flowing water, gravity fed, into this storage tank providing water for a beautiful garden and lawn no matter how severe our drought.

When I wrote this article, all we had experienced was a little drizzle and dew, but already one third of the storage tank has been filled. Friends, it is amazing how much rainwater these tanks will store which in turn can maintain lawns and gardens on property throughout the county.

One of the major services of our Arthur Nagel Health Clinic is healthy living, they call wellness health. The Tranquility Garden will include rows of good gardening soil producing organic produce. Lessons will be given on healthy eating, healthy cooking and cultivating good produce. A light padded walking trail will be built around the park for the clinic’s overweight patients and for any of you that want the exercise.

This is just an introduction to the Tranquility Park. Many more facilities will be included in the Park to enrich the lives of all our county citizens, and will be publicized to you soon. With this article, I mainly wanted to introduce our new rainwater storage tank. Come see for yourself.

Fans needed for summer weather! Temperature was 97 degrees outside yesterday, and more hot weather is expected today. Helping Hand gave our last fan away this morning to an elderly lady. So, we are in great need for donation of fans.

To make a tax deductible donation to Helping Hand or shop at our Thrift Store, come to 1116 12th St. in Bandera or mail to PO Box 1092, Bandera, TX 78003. Phone no. 830-796-8300.
