The State Bound Medina Girls Cross Country team continues to show that they are one of the best 1A teams in the State.

Girls finished third overall to solidify a spot at the State Championship race on Friday, November 5 in Round Rock, led by a Strong Performance from Charli McCabe and Didi Aguilar who finished in the top 10 individually to lock in their individual bid to State.

Both Charli and Didi decided early in the race they belonged in the front of the pack and made a decision to stay focused on being there the whole race, followed by yet again another great performance from Ahnika Grassie, who continues to show she is willing to compete when it counts the most.

Hallie Kunz stepped up big for the team by locking in early and making a statement early in the race that she is ready to compete when everything is on the line.

Kytlin Peterson locked in again to solidify the top five, scoring spots for the Medina girls team and making sure she knew what she had to do to push this team to the top of the region.

Tori Taccetta ran her best race of the season at the regional meet, followed by Kaydence Tilgman, who did her job to help this team reach the State Meet.

TX Mile Splits has the Medina Girls team ranked, and it will be fun to watch a Medina team at the State Cross Country Championships

The Boys Cross Country team qualified to Regionals, but ended up racing individually.

Joe Preston for the second year in a row qualified to State as an individual. Joe has put in a ton of work to get to where he is and it is fun to watch him compete. He will be racing in Round Rock on Friday at the State Cross Country Championships.

Chris Charnetski and Gabe Bower continue to impress the coaches and their teammates with their performances week after week. Chris and Gabe both were at the Regional meet this year for the first time, and the sky’s the limit for these two athletes.

Missy Pump is the Head Cross Country Coach for Medina ISD.
