County hunting limits summarized

The hunting seasons and the harvest limits for wildlife in Bandera County follow.

DOVE Sept. 1 – Nov. 3, 2019 Dec. 20, 2019 – Jan. 14, 2020 Daily limit is 15 white-winged, mourning and white-tipped doves in the aggregate, and to include no more than two white-tipped.

Possession limit is three times the daily bag limit.

GOOSE Nov. 2, 2019 – Feb. 2, 2020 Daily bag limit is five dark geese, to include no more than two white-fronted geese and 20 light geese in the aggregate.

Possession limit for dark geese is three times the daily bag limit. There is no light geese possession limit

RABBITS No closed season and no bag limit.

SANDHILL CRANE Oct. 26, 2019 – Jan. 26, 2020 Daily bag limit is three. Possession limit is nine.

TURKEY Nov. 2, 2019 – Jan. 5, 2020 Bag limit is four, with no more than one of which may be an Eastern turkey.

SNIPE Oct. 26, 2019 – Feb. 9, 2020 Daily bag limit is eight. Possession limit is three times the daily bag limit.

WOODCOCK Dec. 18, 2019 – Jan. 31, 2020 Daily bag limit is three. Possession limit is three times the daily bag limit.

SQUIRREL No closed season and no bag limit.

ALLIGATOR April 1 - June 30, 2020 Bag limit is one per year

DUCK Nov. 9 – Dec. 1, 2019 Dec. 7, 2019 – Jan. 26, 2020 Daily bag limit with gun: six in the aggregate. This includes no more than: five mallards (only two may be hens), three wood ducks, three scaups, two redheads, two canvasbacks, one pintail, one “dusky” duck. Mottled ducks, Mexican-like ducks, black ducks and their hybrids are closed the first five days of the season.

JAVELINA Sept. 1, 2019 – Aug. 2020 Bag limit two per license year. Possession limit is two.

QUAIL Oct. 26, 2019 – Feb. 23, 2020 Daily bag limit is 15. Possession limit is 45.

RAILS, GALLINULES & MOORHENS Nov. 2 – Dec. 25, 2019 Daily bag limit: 15 King and Clapper Rails in the aggregate; 25 Sora and Virginia Rails in the aggregate; 15 Moorhens (Common Gallinules) and Purple Gallinules in the aggregate. Possession limit is three times the daily bag limit.

WHITE-TAILED DEER Nov. 2, 2019 – Jan. 5, 2020 Jan. 6 - 19, 2020* Bag limit is five deer, with no more than two bucks (all seasons combined).

*During the Special Late Season, harvest is restricted to antlerless deer and unbranched antlered bucks. An unbranched antlered buck is any buck deer with an antler having no more than one point.
