Bobcat wins over Brackett, First Baptist

Wyatt Boatman, Medina’s junior point guard, led the Bobcats to victory over Brackett High School Nov. 30 at The Den.

Boatman poured in 22 points and had 7 assists in the Bobcats non-district victory over the Tigers. points and T J DeLeon had a double-double with 10 rebounds and 10 points. Davis Briley had 11 rebounds for Medina. The win ran the Bobcats

The win ran the Bobcats record to 3-1 on the season.

Next, a half-court press by Medina stymied the First Baptist Academy’s offense.

In the first half, the Eagles only put 7 points on the scoreboard against the Bobcats pressure defense.

Medina put up 34 points, with 24 in the second quarter giving the Bobcats a 34-7 halftime lead. The second half was played more evenly, and in the end, Medina posted a 50-25 victory.

Dawson Simons led the Bobcats in scoring with 16 points, and T J DeLeon pulled down 15 rebounds to lead Medina in the win.

With a 4-1 record, the Bobcats traveled to Center Point for a non-district game Tuesday evening. Results of that game were not available by the Bulletin’s deadline. Thursday through Saturday Medina will host its Booster Club’s annual basketball tournament.
