I’m proud to say that we will have football this year!

I would also like to take this opportunity to let you know that the safety of our student athletes is our top priority.

While these are difficult times, we are hopeful that we will be able to provide our students with the opportunity to have the experiences that create the fond memories from high school athletics that we all hold dear.

We will begin high school football practice on Monday, Aug. 3. High school football players should report to the cafeteria at Bandera High School at 3 p.m.

You will need cleats, a physical on file with the trainer, a mask or face covering (to be worn while not actively exercising) and a water bottle with your name on it.

Practice start times and pick up times are located on our athletics website.

End times for practices listed on the website are the actual pick up times in which a student will be ready to be picked up.

Football players will be available for pick up outside the gates of the practice field to minimize congregating after practice.

While we all know things will look a little different this year, rest assured that we will have the same high expectations and standards for our players that you have come to expect in Bandera.

As always, we will take time to clarify new rules and regulations to all of our student athletes prior to our first practice Aug. 3.

The following will be in effect until the Bandera Independent School District is are able to start school on Aug. 17.

To help minimize the risk of a potential spread, locker rooms will be closed before and after practice; however, showers after practice will be available upon request.

Players will also arrive at practice dressed and ready for practice. They will need both cleats and flats for practices.

The drop off area for practice will be in the area in front of our gymnasium and coaches’ offices.

Please continue to check our website, Twitter and Facebook pages for the latest updates.

We can’t wait to see you Aug. 3.
