The Bulldogs Varsity baseball team hosted the Boerne Greyhounds for their second match up in district play. The Bulldogs played some of their best baseball of the year, trailing 2-0 to the #2 ranked 4A team in the state.

Pitcher Pat Cizek allowed only one run in the first inning and worked out of a bases-loaded jam. The defense stepped up with great plays from Randon Wheeler, Josh Dupree, and Zach Quesnot to go along with some great pitching from Cizek and Carson Powers.

Randon Wheeler went 1 for 2. Zach Quesnot went 1 for 1 and Pat Cizek pitched 3 innings with 5 strikeouts and 2 earned runs.

Boerne came back strong in the fifth inning against the Bulldogs and raced away with the game. The final score was Boerne 16 to Bandera 0. At present, Bandera stands at the bottom of the league stats with 0 wins and 2 losses. Wimberley, Fredericksburg, Canyon Lake and Davenport all sit in the middle with 1 win and 1 loss. Boerne leads with 2 wins and 0 losses.

The Bulldogs traveled to Wimberly on Tuesday and will play their second game on Friday against Wimberly at Bulldog Field. Friday will also be Little League Night at the game. Little League players will get in free with their jerseys.
