Editor’s Note: The following letter is in response to an April 20 letter from John Parker.
I tried to read Mr Parker’s comments about me, and about my point of view, with the empathy I had suggested in my column. I tried to follow his line of thinking with openness and consideration for how the world looks through his eyes.
I was doing okay until I got to the part where he blamed the Capitol Police for the deadly violence of January 6, 2021.
This is unconscionable, and I decided I no longer had to try to see through eyes that saw the world that way..
