Steven E. Chappell, who was born on Jan. 16, 1951 at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, California, passed on Nov. 28, 2019 at his home with his family in Pipe Creek, Texas.

Steve proudly served our country from 1969-1974 in the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam Campaign.

He also was part of the Apollo 13 Rescue Mission, Special Forces, the Pheonix Project, UDT, EOD and much more. He wrote country music along with gospel music. He was a country western entertainer, a true cowboy and preached the word of our Lord for 40 years. Steve leaves here on earth his wife of 45-and-a-half years, Gail; three daughters, Crystal, Stephenie and Jennifer; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mom and dad, Bill and Nancy; three brothers; three sisters; four nieces; three nephews and many more.

He never met a stranger. Steve was truly loved!

The memorial is on Friday, Dec. 13, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 10 a.m.

A Celebration of life will be on Dec. 13 at The Flying L Ranch Resort in Bandera at 2:30 p.m.
