SHERAN MARLA NIXON

On Sunday, May 30, 2021, Sheran Marla Nixon, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at age 65.

Marla was born on No vember 24, 1955 in Sulphur, Louisiana, to Sam and Shera Horne. She attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville, TX, and worked as an administrator for UT Health Science Center for several years in San Antonio and for 10 years in administration at the Bandera County Treasurers Office. On August 12, 1975 she married husband of 46 years, Dana Carroll Nixon. They raised two children, Nathan and Brittany.

Marla enjoyed teaching children, joyfully volunteering for Sunday schools, Awanas, and Vacation Bible School. She was also an avid lover of walking and swimming and loved going to the beach and river with her children and best friend, her sister Shawn. She was known for her vibrant personality, sweet dance moves, and her infectious laughter.

Marla is survived by her husband, Dana, her two children, Nathan and Brittany, her brother, Keith, her sister, Shawn, and her mother and father, Sam and Shera Horne.
